Description: A very cool, granite strewn vineyard that produces vibrant, fresh, incredibly textured wines.
Organic farming practices, minimal intervention winemaking.
The fruit comes from our vineyard in Harcourt North, Central Victoria. Harcourt is a cooler pocket located in the Bendigo GI, and this vineyard sits up high above the Harcourt Valley on a granitic outcrop. The vineyard is approx 500m ASL and is the highest (and probably coolest) vineyard in the Bendigo GI. The vineyard soils are composed of granitic slabs and boulders, interspersed with sand.
We have been farming this vineyard ourselves for a few years now, using organic practices. The vineyard has taken a lot of work to get it back to production, after being left fallow for years. Located atop a windy hill means disease pressure is super low, we only need to spray a few times each year with copper sulfate.
This vineyard produces driven, tight, mineral cool climate shiraz, and we are excited for its future.
