Winery: Water Wheel Vineyards
Strength: 13.5% ABV
Locality: Bridgewater-On-Loddon, VIC
Description: Grown at Baringhup Vineyard and planted in 2009. This small batch Grenache (500L production) goes through spontaneous fermentation and is hand plunged twice daily. At the end of primary fermentation this wine is pressed to an older
French oak puncheon. The Grenache then spends 12 months in oak on fine lees. Coarse filtration to bottle. Minimum preservative used. Intended to be consumed young. A very pretty fruit forward style Grenache with gentle oak integration. Nose reminiscent of raspberries and petals. Silky tannins compliment a rhubarb character on the palate. Great with tomato based dishes, pork belly, gamey poultry.
