Description: This is a beer crafted by nature, born out of its surroundings, and a reflection of everything Wild Life Brewing Co believes in.
We loaded the boat up early one morning, and charted a journey down the winding Goulburn river, in search of the perfect spot- a feeling all too familiar for those from the bush- but this time we were carrying some very special cargo. Our pilot brew kit, 10's of kilos water, bags of grain, and 4 ambitious young men ready to brew.
We found a lush isolated spot along the riverbank, painstakingly hauled all our equipment up the steep muddy slops- grain slung over shoulders and sweat dripping down our brows. It was thirsty work from the very beginning. We cleared the area, started a fire, and got to the real work.
Of brewing our very first wild fermented beer.
Nestled amongst vibrant acacia and waxy eucalyptus- we spent the next 14 hours getting back to nature and brewing a beer in the shadow of how it was once done hundreds of years ago.
Over scorching hot coals, with the air filled with pollen from the blooming bush, this beer soaked up the incredible diversity of the green bushland that surrounds Shepparton.
We further added organic peaches into the mix, as a nod to the fruit growing roots of our home- this touch of fruit perfectly balances out and complements the all-natural zesty, sherbety flavor of this sour beer.
Enjoy cold and share with a friend!
